The switch in bosses showed no negative effects on the pitch with Livi racking up a string of strong results.
But behind the scenes there were clearly tensions.
After
Evans was sacked, the board released a statement stating that: “We
voiced our concern over the stewardship of the club under Gareth,
despite the results being generally acceptable.
“John
Collins, having appointed Gareth to the post despite certain
reservations, has regrettably decided to tender his resignation
following our decision to relieve Gareth of his duties.”
Head of youth development Richie Burke will act as caretaker while a new manager is sought.
