Livingston boss Gareth Evans happy with home form turnaround
| |
Gareth Evans says he is delighted his side have ended their home form hoodoo.
The Lions struggled to pick up points at Almondvale last season with their away form being far stronger.
And with Livi now enjoying a six game unbeaten run at home with three wins and three draws, the Lions gaffer is pleased with the turnaround.
He said: “It’s pleasing to see the team doing well at home.
“I know there was a problem before with the team not picking up any wins or enough points at home.
“I wouldn’t say we have been doing anything different.
“But the players have been great with how they have gone about their business whether home or away in the past six games.
“The last half a dozen fixtures have been very tough and it has been a hard set of games, so it’s pleasing to have done so well.
“But the games ahead are just as difficult.”
The latest good result at Almondvale was last weekend’s 2-2 draw against Partick Thistle.
And Evans was delighted with the result.
He added: “We had lost twice already to them and we expected it to be a tough game, so to get something out of the game was very pleasing.
“It was two teams trying to win the game and it was fair and just to get the equaliser.”
Now Livi host Raith Rovers, with the chance to leapfrog them.
And he expects a difficult game in prospect.
“Every game in this division is a difficult one, and Raith Rovers are no different,” he said.
“I watched them play Dunfermline and they played really well and were unfortunate to lose out by a single goal.
“But we won’t be changing our style of play.”
Ross Docherty, Paul Watson, Keaghan Jacobs and Jason Talbot are all unavailable. Dylan Easton, Dean Cumming and Bobby Barr have left the club.
