Livingston boss Gareth Evans has spoken of his disappointment after losing Keaghan Jacobs for the rest of the season.

The Livi midfielder was cruelly sidelined for up to a year, last week, after tearing his anterior cruciate ligament during training.

And Evans admitted Jacobs will be a big miss.

He said: “It’s a massive blow.

Not only in terms of losing him on the pitch, but the dedication Keaghan shows at the football club is a big miss.

Hopefully he can get his rehab done as soon as possible.”

Jacobs was set for a routine operation in Bradford last week before a scan revealed the true extent of the injury, and will now be out for between nine and 12 months.

The midfielder missing the early stages of the season with a hamstring problem before suffering a bad knock during a reserve game as he battled back to fitness.

But those ailments will pale into insignificance compared to this injury which can take up to a year to heal.

He took to twitter and said: “This journey back from Bradford is feeling like the longest journey in the world right now.”
