Livingston star Jason Talbot paid children at Carmondean Primary School a special visit - and he brought the Scottish Communities League Cup with him.

The defender dropped in as part of the Wave of Support Trophy Tour where the kids had their picture taken with the trophy before Talbot answered questions.

He said: “It’s great to be involved in the Trophy Tour and see the reaction on the kids’ faces when they get to hold the cup.

“Through football we can encourage kids to work together, and creating opportunities for them to be more active.”

Headteacher Gillian Millar said: “We were thrilled to have the trophy tour visit Carmondean”.

Professional sports people are hugely influential, particularly among school-age children, and it is fantastic to be able to show off the positive impact these individuals have in our community and inspire our youngsters to future success.”

The tour is scheduled to visit various community initiatives and sports events organised across all of Scotland between now and the final in March.

Talbot visited the school last week.
