Livingston versus Cowdenbeath match report

Feb 21 2013

by Kieran Westbrook, West Lothian Courier

Tony Andreu and Jesus Garcia Tena showed continental class as both bagged goals as Livingston cruised to a 3-0 victory over Cowdenbeath.

The euro duo banged in the second and third goal after Iain Russell’s opener.

And Andreu said: “I thought all three of our goals were very good.

“It’s good to help the team and I’m very happy for that.

“When I arrived here I was told that they wanted to pass the ball like Barcelona.

“I really like this way of playing.”

Iain Russell latched on to a Liam Fox pass to slot home the opener from a tight angle.

Andreu fired in Livi’ second from a Russell cut-back.

And the other half of Livi’s continental contingent – the attacking centre-half Tena – fired home after Jordan Morton’s strike was parried to him.

Livi earned a standing ovation at the interval as the tie was effectively won.

Cowdenbeath competed far better in the second half, with Greig Stewart and Scott Linton both creating chances.

But Livingston kept any Cowden comeback at bay, adding a clean sheet to a polished display at Almondvale.
